Hearing Aid Types

Hearing aids come in a variety of types and styles. Every hearing aid is slightly different in what they can do for you. So “the perfect fit” hearing aid for you will depend on the results of your hearing test and your lifestyle.

Custom Hearing Aids by ReSound

ReSound offers the most advanced hearing technology custom designed just for you. The crafting process simulates the design in the ear at the manufacturing site before being sent to 3D printing. This helps to achieve the best hearing in noise capabilities delivered to you in a weatherproof, sweatproof package perfectly designed for your ears.

BTE Hearing Aids

A behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aid hooks over the top of your ear and rests behind the ear.

RIC Hearing Aids

The receiver-in-canal (RIC) style is an open fit hearing aid that sits behind your ear and feeds sound through a thin tube that connects to your ear canal.

ITE Hearing Aids

In-the-ear hearing aids (ITE) include all hearing aids that are worn entirely in the ear (rather than behind it).

ITC Hearing Aids

In-the-canal (ITC) hearing aids are also known as “half-shell” hearing aids. They look very similar to ITE (in-the-ear) hearing aids, but the main difference is they're smaller and get fitted to the lower part of the ear – the ear canal.

CIC Hearing Aids

CIC Hearing Aids (CIC) are worn completely in your ear canal, and are a discreet and—often more affordable—option. CIC hearing aids are custom fit to your unique anatomy using an ear canal impression to achieve maximum comfort and sound quality.

IIC Hearing Aids

Invisible In the Ear Canal (IIC) are the smallest custom hearing aids available and are designed and molded to fit perfectly inside your ear canal – making them nearly undetectable to everyone around you, aside from a small wire to help you easily insert and remove them.
